Transforming your smile is a big decision, and moving the position of teeth is a complex process.

Why choose clear aligners?
There are many reasons why our patients love Invisalign and Spark for achieving a straighter smile, including:
- Discretion Invisalign and Spark aligners are made out of transparent plastic, so they are virtually invisible when you are wearing them.
- Better oral health Negotiating brackets and wires to brush and floss your teeth can make it difficult to clean them properly. Avoid the additional risk of cavities and gum disease with Invisalign, which can be removed to clean both them and your teeth.
- Greater comfort With no sharp edges, protruding metal or elastic bands, most people feel that Invisalign is more comfortable than fixed metal braces.
- No food restrictions Clear aligners can be removed for eating, so you can eat whatever the foods you enjoy.
What is Invisalign and Spark?
Invisalign and Spark are leading brands of clear aligner therapy used for teeth straightening. They offer discreet, removable aligners made of transparent plastic, gradually shifting your teeth into their desired positions.
Both systems provide customised treatment plans tailored to your individual dental needs, transforming the position of your teeth without the need for conventional fixed braces.
Key benefits of Invisalign and Spark:
- Discreet: it’s nearly impossible to see Invisalign and Spark clear aligners when worn
- Durable: Invisalign and Spark aligners are custom-made to fit your teeth
- Convenient: Remove your aligners to eat and brush your teeth

Your clear aligner Journey: A Step-by-Step Guide
Consultation
Share your smile goals with us during your consultation, where we'll discuss what you’d like to achieve and examine your teeth.
Oral health examination
Before starting your clear aligner treatment, we'll check your oral health to ensure there are no issues like cavities or gum disease that need attention first.
Digital scan
We’ll take a mess-free digital scan of your mouth, giving us highly detailed images of your teeth to create a precise treatment plan.
Smile prediction
Using advanced technology, we’ll create a virtual model of your teeth to show you how your smile will look after treatment.
Custom aligners
Your aligners will be custom-made based on your digital scan. During your fitting appointment, we’ll ensure they fit perfectly and guide you on how to use and care for them.
Routine wear
Wear each set of aligners for about one to two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Gradually, they’ll guide your teeth into their desired position.
Progress checkups
Return for regular checkups so we can monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to keep your treatment on track.
Retainers
After completing your aligner treatment, you’ll wear a retainer to keep your teeth in their new position. Initially, this is full-time, then gradually reduced over time.
How do clear aligners work?
Invisalign and Spark treatment comprises a series of bespoke, clear aligners that fit over the top of your teeth and work by applying carefully controlled force to move them into a new, straighter position. Each aligner is worn for around two weeks before you move on to the next one in the series, as each is slightly different.
Technology is used to map the movement your teeth need to make to bring them into the best position. These movements are broken down into stages, and aligners are created with the tiny differences needed to reflect each stage in the teeth straightening journey.

Tips for wearing your clear aligners
- Invisalign and Spark aligners must be worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day. Only take them out for brushing your teeth or eating.
- Make sure you wear your aligners in the right order, otherwise it will disrupt your treatment progress.
- Store your aligners in the case provided when you remove them to eat or brush your teeth.
- Clean your aligners regularly as instructed to prevent food and bacteria becoming trapped between your teeth and the aligner.
Are clear aligners right for me?
We often recommend Invisalign or Spark for adolescents and adults who are looking to improve the appearance of their smile but want to avoid the compromises required by wearing traditional fixed braces.

Am I a good candidate for clear aligners?
If you have complex issues with your bite, severe overlapping or significant gaps between your teeth, Invisalign or Spark may not be a suitable option. Book your consultation to find out if you are a suitable candidate for clear aligners at Siha Dental.
Teeth straightening system for busy lifestyles
Invisalign and Spark are ideal for our busiest patients. Conventional fixed braces require frequent appointments to make the incremental adjustments needed to progress through the treatment. However, with Invisalign and Spark you’ll be given a series of aligners at each orthodontic appointment, which you swap yourself, usually around every two weeks. You’ll still need to see us in-practice to check on your progress, but fewer appointments are needed.

How long will it take to notice the results of treatment?
We understand that you’ll be eager to enjoy your beautiful new smile as soon as possible, but Invisalign and Spark takes time, as your teeth only move fractionally with every aligner.
Most patients find that they start to see a difference in the appearance of their smile around 10 to 12 weeks after starting treatment. However, the full length of your treatment will vary depending on your specific situation. On average, patients can expect treatment to take between 6 and 18 months.
Cutting-edge Orthodontic technology
We have invested in the latest technology to provide world-leading orthodontic treatment to our patients in Shepherd’s Bush. This includes the iTero Element scanner.
The scanner is used to create detailed 3D images of your teeth and jaw, allowing us to design your unique Invisalign aligners. The scanner also enables you to visualise what your teeth will look like at the end of your treatment, offering you the reassurance of knowing what to expect before you begin your teeth straightening journey with us.

Clear aligner frequently asked questions
Invisalign and Spark are designed to be as comfortable as possible, but you might experience mild discomfort or pressure when you start wearing new aligners. This sensation usually comes from the aligners applying gentle force to move your teeth into the desired position. The discomfort is typically mild and tends to lessen within a few days as you get used to the aligners.
Lots of people have braces in their teenage years but fail to wear their retainers after their braces have been removed. When this happens, your teeth can start to move back into their original position. Fortunately, Invisalign and Spark can help correct them again without the need to go back to braces.
While it’s important to wear aligners in the correct order, accidents happen. Don’t panic. If you realise you’ve been wearing the wrong aligner, contact us straight away. We’ll probably ask you to come in for a consultation so we can check your teeth and aligners and develop a plan to get your treatment back on track.
Clear aligners are extremely durable and able to withstand considerable force. However, if you do manage to damage or lose your aligners, get in touch as soon as you can, and we can re-order you a new one.
It can feel a little unusual when you first start to wear aligners, and some patients may experience a slight change in their speech for a few days until they get used to them.
The cost of your treatment can vary depending on your individual treatment. Your orthodontist will be able to provide an estimate at the time of your consultation at Siha Dental. To help you make an investment in your smile, we also offer financing options. Check out our fees and payment plans page for more information.
