Replace missing or damaged teeth with secure, natural-looking dentures
Losing at least one tooth is common for many people at some point in their lives. However, gaps left by missing teeth can impact how your teeth function and the look of your smile. People with missing teeth often feel self-conscious about talking or smiling and may cover their mouths with their hands to hide the gaps. Missing teeth can also affect your speech and lead to other dental issues, like shifting teeth, receding gums, and tooth decay.
At Siha Dental, we can help you to rediscover your confidence in your smile with high quality, durable and natural-looking dentures. Find out how dentures can transform your smile – book an appointment with our experienced and compassionate dental team today.

What are dentures?
Dentures are removable oral appliances designed to replace missing teeth. They're custom-made to fit each patient, ensuring a comfortable feel and a natural appearance that blends seamlessly with your other teeth. Dentures come in two types: full or partial.
Full dentures
An acrylic base sits over the gums, and it holds a custom-made set of acrylic teeth.
Partial dentures
These are fixed to the teeth on either side of a gap, typically replacing no more than three missing teeth. They're sometimes suggested as an alternative to a bridge. Unlike full dentures, partial dentures can be made from acrylic or metal, with metal partial dentures being stronger and lighter.

Why dentures?

Improved function
The main purpose of dentures is to restore your ability to eat and speak normally.
Enhanced appearance
Living with missing teeth can affect how you feel about the way you look. Dentures look and behave naturally, restoring your appearance and your confidence.

Decreased rate of bone loss
Tooth loss can cause bone structure in the lower half of the face to disintegrate. Dentures slow this process, helping you to retain your face shape for longer.
Comfortable and secure
Modern dentures are designed to be both comfortable and secure, meaning you don’t have to worry about sores and slipping.

Easy to look after
Dentures are easy to take care of and require minimal maintenance provided you follow the advice given by our dental team.
Dentures frequently asked questions
Each set of dentures is different and designed to replicate the shape and colour of your natural teeth as closely as possible. This makes them extremely discreet.
Some patients find that their denture feels more secure when they use a denture adhesive.
If you aren’t used to wearing dentures, they can feel strange and uncomfortable at first. However, since they are made specifically to fit your mouth, they shouldn’t cause any long-term discomfort.
Dentures should be brushed just like regular teeth, using a soft-bristled brush and toothpaste. You should always leave your dentures in a glass of water to soak overnight, and we recommend that you use fizzy denture-cleaning tablets to remove any stubborn food particles and prevent staining.
Although you can wear dentures at night, we recommend that you remove them for sleeping. This will give your gums a chance to relax from the pressure caused by wearing dentures, and give you an opportunity to clean them.
This is something that can happen over time, normally as a result of the lower half of your face changing shape as the jawbone starts to deteriorate. If your dentures don’t seem as comfortable or secure as before, let us know. You may need a procedure called a reline to improve their fit.
Dentures typically last anywhere from 7 to 10 years before they require replacement.
